Verified by Visa®
For added internet security, you are required to register your Belco Community Debit, Classic, Gold and/or Platinum card in the Verified by Visa program at no cost to you! The security and confidence of your Belco Community Credit Union plastic cards is our top priority. Under our current plastic card programs, you are not liable for any unauthorized purchases made with your card. Registering your card in Verified by Visa can help prevent unauthorized purchases before they even happen. It will also enforce your $0 fraud liability, and guarantee no disruption in your Internet purchasing.
Verified by Visa was designed to help ensure that only you can use your card online. You will create a unique password to confirm your identity. Registration is quick and simple. You will be notified on your screen when your registration was completed successfully. From then on, when you make a purchase online with one of your Belco Community Credit Union plastic cards, and the merchant you are purchasing from also participates in Verified by Visa, you will be asked to supply your password to ensure that you are the person doing the shopping. Now that registration for Verified by Visa is available to Belco members, you will need the following:
- The Primary Cardholder's birthdate
- Your Belco Community Credit Union Plastic Card(s)
- Note: Verified by Visa does not apply to our regular ATM card
You can register your card three different ways: via Belco Community Credit Union Website, via VISA USA's website, or directly with a participating merchant which is referred to as Activation During Shopping with required participation (ADS w/RP). What this means is that if you attempt to make a purchase from a merchant who participates in Verified by Visa and you haven't registered your card previously via the Belco website or Visa website, you will be prompted during the checkout process to register your card and create a unique password for your card.
